ClearlyBraced is an independent publisher of guides about braces, clear aligners and orthodontic care. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit clearlybraced.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it. What we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site.

• Email address. Collected only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter or request the Aligner Starter Kit. We also store the consent wording you agreed to, the date of consent, your IP address and browser user agent as proof of consent.
• Purchase data. If you buy our ebook, the payment is handled by Payhip. We never see or store your card details.
• Usage data. Aggregated, non identifying analytics such as page views, referring site, approximate country, device type and browser.
• Technical logs. Standard server logs kept briefly for security and error debugging.

We do not collect health records, dental records, treatment history or any other special category data. Please do not send us medical details.

Why we use it

• To send the newsletter and the resources you asked for, based on your consent.
• To deliver a digital product you purchased, based on performance of a contract.
• To understand which guides are useful and to keep the site secure, based on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site.

We never sell your personal data, and we do not share your email address with advertisers.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work, plus privacy friendly analytics that measure traffic in aggregate. We do not run advertising cookies or cross site tracking pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time without losing access to the articles.

Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links. When you follow one, the retailer may set its own cookies and process your data under its own privacy policy. Who processes data for us

We use a small set of service providers who act as processors on our behalf: hosting and database infrastructure, our email delivery provider for newsletters and transactional messages, our analytics provider, and Payhip for ebook payments. Each is bound by a data processing agreement. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
• Consent records: kept for the duration of the subscription plus three years as evidence.
• Analytics: retained in aggregate form only.
• Server logs: typically deleted within 30 days.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent at any time and receive a copy in a portable format. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

The fastest way to remove yourself is the unsubscribe link in any email, or our unsubscribe page. For any other request, email hello@clearlybraced.com and we will respond within one month. If you believe we have handled your data poorly, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

The site is written for adults, including parents researching treatment for a child. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we will delete the record.

Security

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit, access controls and row level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we review access regularly and keep stored personal data to a minimum.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes affecting subscribers will also be announced by email.
